Slipknot is hitting several milestones in their career this year and next, even though they haven’t played a gig while in writing mode for their next album. The band put out a casting call for a new music video, inviting fans to a shoot in Los Angeles on Friday, October 5th. They quickly took the post down a short time later. The message was captioned “Slipknot20th Anniversary,” presumably referring to the 20th anniversary of the release of the band’s self-titled debut album, which arrived in 1999. Fans wanting to participate in the music video shoot are being asked to e-mail their name and age to slipknot20th@gmail.com. Those who are under the age of 18 will need to provide a copy of their parent/guardian’s photo identification and a release form signed by the parent/guardian. Next year marks the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut, which released on Roadrunner in 2019 and ushered in a new era in metal at the time. Slipknot’s Slaughterhouse opens in their home of Des Moines, Iowa next week.
