In a story Ghost Cult continues to follow, in a new interview Slash has revealed that Guns ‘N Roses is in its infancy stages of creating new material. It would be the first brand new material that original members Axl Rose, Duff McKagan, and Slash will have made together since 1991’s Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II (both Geffen Records). Speaking with Meltdown of 101 WRIF, the guitarist discussed the topic and on why the band has been tight-lipped about the process. You can read his quote below and listen to the interview believe. GNR’s “Not In This Lifetime Tour”, begun in 2016, continues this fall.
“The thing is, we haven’t really done anything yet, and I don’t like to say anything. You know how people used to promote shit and lie through their teeth? So I just wanted to be honest about it, and so there was really no telling what we were gonna do at that point. But at this point, I do know that we are gonna do this run [of shows in the fall], and we’ve already started working on stuff. So, there you go.”
“I am excited about what we’ve got going on and everything, so it’s gonna be cool.”
