Austin, Texas band, Scorpion Child, have announced they will release their new album, I Saw the End as it Passed Right Through Me, on February 14 via Noize in the Attic Records. In advance, the bad have now shared their latest single, “Actress.” Listen to the new track and find out more below.

“I Saw the End as it Passed Right Through Me is a quite intense and rather moody record,” offers vocalist Aryn Jonathan Black. “I wrote these songs from the pits of a deep depression after going through a really rough patch in life where my mental health was very poor. Don’t think of it as all gloomy, though, because in our sadness there are also euphoric times of extreme happiness and nirvana. This album is dedicated to the betterment of mental health awareness and to those who struggle every day in these trying times. It’s truly an honest record, and we are excited to perform it live.”
Recorded at Point West Recording with Charles Godfrey (Black Angels, The Mountain Goats), the LP is the long-awaited follow up to the band’s 2016 full-length LP, Acid Roulette (Nuclear Blast Records). Scorpion Child completed a successful European tour this past autumn which included spotlight festival appearances as part of Switzerland’s Up In Smoke Festival (w/ Monster Magnet, Slomosa), the Netherlands’ Into The Void Festival (w/ Black Tusk, Greenleaf), Germany’s Keep It Low Festival (w/ Russian Circles, Inter Arma), and Belgium’s Desertfest (w/ Conan, Monolord). During the tour, the band performed a special live set on legendary German music television show, Rockpalast (https://youtu.be/i65wxPeQwbI), which has hosted scores of A-level artists such as The Afghan Whigs, Black Pumas, Rainbow, The Black Crowes, and Thin Lizzy. Scorpion Child wields a sound that hearkens back to when guitar rock ruled the airwaves and going to concerts was the ultimate main event. The Austin, TX quintet released its self-titled debut in 2013 via Nuclear Blast Records. The album landed at #26 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and #99 on the Billboard Hard Music Albums chart. Following its premiere by Eddie Trunk, iTunes named “Polygon Of Eyes” its “Single of the Week,” and Scorpion Child earned a nomination for “Best New Band” at the Classic Rock Awards. The group’s second album, 2016’s Acid Roulette was recorded with GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith [Meat Puppets, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead], and featured the fan-favorite tracks “Reaper’s Danse”, and “My Woman in Black.”
