Cliff Burton was tragically taken from this planet on this day thirty years ago in Sweden, but his legacy will forever live on.

He was a part of the Metallica albums that redefined metal, but due to a patch of black ice, we will never know the full greatness that he could have achieved with the band. On this somber day, you will see tributes from artists everywhere, but there is now a special page on Facebook, created by his father, where we can learn more about Cliff, as well as leave our own stories, and favorite memories of our fallen hero. The Cliff Burton Family page is simply Ray Burton‘s way of bringing together fans all over the world in his son’s memory, and it’s just an awesome idea.
