Prophecy Fest are thrilled to announce Triptykon for the 2024 billing! The innovators of dark avant-garde metal will grace the Cave of Balve with a journey to their masterpieces – and as a generous nod to the special location, they will even briefly visit the legendary Celtic Frost classic “Into The Pandemonium”! On more exciting and forward looking news, game-changing black metal outfit Farsot has also agreed to perform in the cave next year. The Germans will not ‘only’ bring a brand new album to Balve but also perform a special 25th anniversary show!
Prophecy Fest comment: “When we invite bands from beyond our roster to the label fest, we always aim to have guests that have had a strong influence on the course and development of Prophecy Productions”, founder Martin Koller explains. “The musical genius of Tom Gabriel ‘Warrior’ Fischer has obviously left a massive mark on both the label and the festival with Celtic Fost and ‘Into the Pandemonium’ in particular. To be able to welcome his current musical endeavour Triptykon that is again showing a way forward for the metal of coming generations is a great honour. it is very likely that these bands have also influenced Farsot. At least these Germans share this determined artistic will to change the status quo and push all boundaries. We are stoked that Farsot will celebrate their 25th anniversary with us in Balve.”
Prophecy Fest will bring dark, forward thinking music with an attitude to one of the world’s most fascinating cultural locations again, the legendary, natural Cave of Balve (“Balver Höhle”). The three day event will begin on Thursday, September 5 and it will conclude with a final concert starting before midnight of Saturday, September 7.

Prophecy Fest 2023 The Vision Bleak by Carsten Brand
LOCATION & TRAVEL
Prophecy Fest was founded in 2015 and already sold out at the first edition. This singular event for dark and innovative music takes place in the Balver Kulturhöhle (“Balve culture cave”) in the Hönnetal (“Valley of Hönne”) near the town of Balve in the Sauerland region of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The naturally formed karst cave has been used by humans since the early stone age (palaeolithic). This important archaeological site has yielded remains from many periods through the ages until medieval times. According to Germanic legend transmitted through the old Icelandic Thidreksaga, the mythical blacksmith Wayland came to this cave to learn his magical craft from the dwarven masters that were dwelling there.
The gravity of its history and the special acoustics of the Balver Cave provide a unique atmosphere that perfectly echoes the musical spirit of Prophecy Festy.

With Triptykon the pioneering musical genius of mastermind Tom Gabriel “Warrior” Fischer continues to change the course of heavy music. His achieved legacy with HELLHAMMER and CELTIC FROST can hardly be overstated. These bands form founding pillars, on which Nordic black metal and later also the global scene have been built upon. Now, Triptykon shape the sound of coming generations with their dark avant-garde creations.
East German avant-garde black metal outfit Farsot will release their fourth album “Life Promised Death” in February 2024. The forthcoming full-length revolves around a conceptual story about life slipping out of hand. One remarkable aspect of Farsot is that of the band’s five current members, three remain from the original founders and four of them have been playing together for at least 20 years. Therefore it is only fitting that Farsot will celebrate their 25th anniversary in the cave.
