“The message behind this project is about the journey of building something meaningful,” shares the band. “It starts with creating something from a place of passion, then facing challenges that try to knock you off course. From there, it’s about picking yourself up, rebuilding, and continuing the cycle. Being consistent is very important. That process really reflects what we’ve experienced as a band, and through this project, we wanted to share that story and give people a look into who we are and what we’ve been through.”
The 12-track (8 songs, 4 skits) project pulls listeners in from the jump. It includes previously released singles “Cool Being You” – a high-voltage celebration of self-expression that smashes punk, alt, and hip-hop into one swagger-drenched banger. And “BLK Sheep” – a thrash-punk/alt-rap rally cry that rips through corruption, inequality, and the endless layers of hypocrisy baked into politics, culture, and everyday life.
Pulling influence from the Big Beat Era of the mid-2000’s (The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim) while keeping their foundation in rock, metal, punk, hardcore, and hip-hop, C.D.R.R. captures a moment in time for Oxymorrons – the fastest they’ve ever gone from writing to release. The urgency is baked into the sound.
“Self-producing C.D.R.R aligned with this moment in our careers, like moments prior; we are completely independent. No record label. So naturally it seemed right to produce this project completely on our own,” explains the band. “It is such an honest representation of where we are right now in this exact moment, with splashes of where we could potentially be going. It was a great way of ‘sharpening our swords’ together, finding and amplifying what our voice would be as we entered a new Oxymorrons era. And most importantly – it was just really so much fun. We got to explore new sounds and the ideas in our heads without any influence outside of the 3 of us, and that’s really special for any band to solidify this unique moment in time for us.”
The band’s next move: take it live. Oxymorrons hit the road September 22 for part two of Sleep Theory’s Afterglow Tour, then crash the stage at the Warped Tour 30th Anniversary finale in Orlando, FL.

Oxymorrons are the sonic embodiment of New York City! Unpredictable, multicultural, and impossible to box in. Built around the genre-defying chemistry of members KI, Deee, and guitarist Jafé Paulino, the band blends punk, hip-hop, alternative, metal & influences from their Caribbean cultures, and everything in between to an electrifying, culture-shifting sound. From the beginning, they’ve used their music not just as an outlet, but as a vehicle for movement, one that champions individuality, representation, and rebellion against genre and societal norms.
Their critically acclaimed 2023 debut album, Melanin Punk, earned praise for its bold sonic fusion and fearless storytelling, with standout single “Look Alive (Netic)” cracking the Mediabase Active Rock chart and their live show lighting up tours with Corey Taylor, Bad Omens, and more. Along the way, they’ve taken their message and music everywhere from Riot Fest to Sonic Temple to stages across Europe, leaving no room untouched by their raw energy and conviction.
Now fully independent and stepping into a new phase as a three-piece, Oxymorrons are reclaiming their creative freedom and redefining what’s next. “We’ve always stayed true to ourselves, but this chapter is about going even harder in that direction,” the band shares. “We’re excited to build something that’s fully ours — no limits, no filters, just us.”
