Continuing their efforts to LOUDLY COMBAT HOMELESSNESS and raise money for Shelter, UK Thrashers switch things up in 2024, taking a break from the annual compilation album that has so far raised over £6000 for the housing charity, 2024 will see the first Moshin’ The Roof On Festival…or MTROFEST for short!
Hosted by The Hairy Dog (Derby) The day will be stacked with some of the best underground thrash talent with 12 bands, on the one main stage with absolutely NO CLASHES at the ridiculous low price of just £12 (plus booking fee) for early bird ticket buyers!

Nick – The Hairy Dog Said – “The Hairy Dog is stoked to be joining forces with UK Thrashers to accommodate this stacked day full of riffs, beers, mosh pits and partying…did we mention riffs?! Just try and name us a better way to raise some much needed cash for Shelter UK? We’ll wait…’”
The previous two albums have had launch parties, but with no compilation album for 2024, this is the first year that sees an event as a standalone fundraiser, with all bands and the venue waiving their fees to ensure all profits go to support the homeless in the UK.
The line-up will be revealed over the next couple of months with the full poster being revealed before Christmas, but today we can reveal the first three bands that will be gracing the stage next April.
First up, the festival headliner – we are proud to have East Anglia’s Elimination topping the bill, with a fresh new line up that recently resharpened their teeth at Bloodstock!
David Hill – Vocals/Guitar – “We are so excited and thrilled to be headlining the inaugural Moshin’ The Roof on festival. The UK thrashers guys have been so incredibly supportive of Elimination through the years so when they asked us along for this incredible festival it was an absolute no brainer. All proceeds are going to Shelter so make sure you get your ticket early!”
We can also announce the first two acts that make up the other 11 bands that will be joining Elimination in laying waste to The Hairy Dog, first up we are delighted to finally bring our friends from Yorkshire to Derby, as we welcome a furious slab of blackened crossover from the mighty ‘Sidewinder’!
Jonesy – Guitar said – “UK Thrash has been a part of our lives for over 20 years in one way or the other, and to be able to support the ukthrashers annual charity push for Shelter by jumping on a bill with some of the hardest UK bands around at the moment is unreal. Stacked line up for a wicked cause, bring it on. Thrash til Deaf or whatever Lemmy said… Mosher’s up front let’s f*cking go!”
And to complete this first batch of announcements we are also excited to announce that London New Age of Hate Thrashers Fracture Point will be bringing their NOLA tinged crossover thrash to Derby for the first time!
Sean – Vocals said – “We are super pumped and honoured to be making some noise in Derby alongside a plethora of awesome bands! And who knows, we might even remember the setlist!”
Neil from ukthrashers had this to say – “I am so excited to be able to make MTROFEST a reality, we’ve been daydreaming about the concept since the first year of Moshin’ The Roof On, but this year it’s finally going to come true. The Line-up is absolutely stacked with 12 bands locked in, all of which could be headliners in their own right, and I am beyond excited and humbled by the bands and The Hairy Dog’s support and willingness to waive their fee to help us raise money for Shelter.”
As we have said, there is no compilation album this year, so this is the one shot to continue to help the homeless for 2024, and with 12 of the best UK underground thrash bands and a 500-capacity venue on our side… this could be the biggest year yet!
