Through their charitable foundation All Within My Hands, Metallica has donated 100,000 USD to World Central Kitchen (WCK) inspired by their work providing relief to war-torn Ukraine. Metallica has shared a message about their WCK and their decision to help. 

A MESSAGE FROM WORLD CENTRAL KITCHEN

As the war unfolded in Ukraine, we decided to work with an organization that speaks to the “fight against hunger” pillar of our mission. Inspired by the vital work and swift action of José Andrés and his team at World Central Kitchen, we granted US$100,000 to WCK on March 3. We share their response today as it paints a more vivid picture of their work:

“We are touched that you’ve trusted WCK with your resources. You are fueling our most expansive, complex, sweeping, and ever-changing five-country operation in and around Ukraine (we are in Poland, Romania, Hungary, Moldova, and Ukraine itself). What we are witnessing is utterly heartbreaking, but your response fills us with inspiration and fuel to keep going.

I want to share a video to provide a glimpse into the work that’s transpired over the past week. What started out as a few hundred meals on Thursday, February 24, has very quickly ramped up to hundreds of thousands of meals per day. And you are a part of our family making this happen.
