Like Ozzy Osbourne, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, and others before them, Metallica are getting their very own permanent SiriusXM channel dedicated to both their studio discography, live performances, exclusive interviews/behind-the-scenes content, and curated playlist from the band. Maximum Metallica will launch August 29 on the SiriusXM Channel 42. In celebration of the launch, the band will perform an intimate set at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY on Thursday, August 28th. On September 1st, that performance will begin streaming on Maximum Metallica at 12pm EST and will rebroadcast the rest of the weekend. Metallica has had short-lived channels or specials around album releases and tours, such as 72 Seasons, and many terrestrial radio stations still have a Mandatory Metallica block, but this is the first time Metallica will have a permanent channel on SiriusXM.
