The event is all part of Red Moon Ale House’s proprietor Ramiro Marquez Jr.’s goal of revitalizing his hometown of Yuma and bringing more art and culture to the city he grew up in and so proudly calls home. Mega Ran was the first performer to play the Red Moon, and more successful shows birthed the upcoming Dream Master Mixtape.

Raheem “Mega Ran” Jarbo’s music and story have been shared on stages across the world, on television (ABC/NBC News, ESPN, Portlandia, Tosh.O, WWE Wrestling) and on Billboard, where four of his albums have placed on the Top 200 list. His musical resume boasts collaborations with legends like Del The Funky Homosapien, MURS, Kool Keith, and Young RJ of the group Slum Village.

He’s been lucky enough to spend his life answering the call. Whether it was answering the call for black role models in the inner city schools of his native Philadelphia and his adoptive home in Phoenix. Or the call of the road when he retired his ruler and chose to tour the world as an awe inspiring spiritual mentor to thousands. While he may not have any Grammys on his mantle or any gold records on his wall, Mega Ran has chosen to measure his career by a different benchmark, connections made and communities affected.

In his nearly two-decade professional career, Mega Ran’s adventure has taken him to places he only could’ve dreamed of from his porch in Uptown Philly. From London, Paris, and Tokyo, Mega Ran took his bombastic mega-busting word play international, leaving audiences elated world-wide.

Hip-hop has taken the celebrated lyricist to the national television spotlight, festival appearances, and even to a sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden. But through it all, Mega Ran has always used his good fortune to empower and enrich the lives of others.

Mega Ran has built his reputation as a wordsmith, a community leader, a man of integrity (and the world’s greatest hugger) with nothing but a pen, a mic, a good education, and a solid moral compass instilled through the direction of his hard working mother and a bevy of other non-playable characters along the way. He did this the right way. The only way, by always walking his talk.
