Nergal and John Porter have already shared the ‘My Church Is Black‘ and ‘Ain’t Much Loving‘ videos from their Me And That Man project, and today they’ve unveiled the third clip from the upcoming record. The Behemoth front man had this to say about the ‘Cross My Heart And Hope To Die’ video on his Instagram account: “So I played the last show on the US tour with Behemoth in Santa Ana. Nico Poalillo picked me up around midnight and we drove down to LA where I rented out air b’n’b apartment in Santa Monica. We arrived around 2 am but it took me a while to find a key and all the instruction how to get to the house. There TWO blocks but none of them had a number on it. So I entered the first one and… tried to open EVERY door but it didn’t work. One of them was already wide open so I entered… but the apartment didn’t look like the one from the photos. Weird, I thought. There were bags in the centre as well… looked like someone was moving in our out. Intuiton told me to get the fuck out of this place. And THEN I saw a sign on the front door: “EVICTION”. I went to the other block and the very last door on the first floor would finally match my keys… I ended up in bed at 3 am having in mind the fact that Nico is picking me up at 8 am to head over to Joshua Tree and Death Valley locations. I was still high on adrenaline from the show, I had some personal drama going on plus the stress generated from the video logistic would serve me a severe insomnia. I stayed alert the whole nite. The next morning we were on the way to the desert… we found a shitty hotel in the middle of nowehre where we stayed the night over (4h sleep) and 5 am next morning we were already in Death Valley shooting “Cross My Heart” video. I felt and looked like shit. Literally. Eye bags, worn out face, frustrated and pissed off beyond reason. On that day I was In fact no man’s friend. BUT I found out it works PERFECTLY with the script I wrote and that additional make ups or comfi conditions would simply ruin the credibility of my acting in that video/song. I went for it… and soon found out that desaster was not over YET;))) We rented a beaten up old vehicle for the video. The guys would drive it all day long prior to the shooting to double check it’s ok and running. And on the shooting day the car died in the mid way… That’s why I ended up walking down in the desert instead of driving…;) And note that stunning White Falcon Gretsch guitar I’m playing! I didn’t bring mine from Poland so we called up the company in LA and they generously delivered brand new one and rented it out for the video purposes. Our car was parked in the middle of the spot… when I was done with the shooting I put the guitar on the opened guitar case in front of the car… and forgot about it. We got in the vehicle and I commanded: “Let’s go”. Shortly after we heard it cracking… I bet Peter Beste and Nico saw tears in my eyes and the face of utter despair. I was in pieces… literally. EVERYTHING on that day went wrong and completed the picture of ruin and destruction. Today it feels good… and kinda funny to talk about and it’s an amazing anegdote to share but back then… Oh boy… I really hope you will dig the song, lyrics and the video as it’s as real as it gets. I’d like to thank both gentlemen Peter Beste and Nico Poalillo for being sooo passionate about this project! I would love to send my deepest gratitude and respect to Czeslaw Mozil for playing accordeon in the choruses and Kev Fox and Down Kosmos from Figo Fagot for backing me up with gang vocals! And last but not least these amazing apocalyptic kid’s choir and their parents for balls and courage! I’m super proud of our work guys and this means the world to me!
