Mastodon has revealed that they will be headlining a special benefit show for suicide prevention and mental health education non-profit Hope For The Day on September 9th at the Metro in Chicago. The show, which will also feature performances by Brain Tentacles and Power Mad, will also see the pre-release of a new batch of their ‘Crack The Skye‘ beer, which is their Russian imperial coffee stout that boasts a hefty 11% ABV.
Mastodon released this statement, “Chicago! We are coming back on September 9th for a special concert in honor of suicide prevention month, 100% of the proceeds will support suicide prevention and mental health education. We are also releasing the next batch of Crack The Skye beer with 3 Floyds’ and we are playing THE METRO for the first time since 2009! Please join us in breaking the silence around suicide and mental health, it would mean the world to us. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10am CST.”
