Mark Lanegan (Screaming Trees, Mad Season, Queens of The Stone Age) Has Died


More sad news today as Mark Lanegan, iconic rock singer for bands such as Screaming Trees, Mad Season, The Gutter Twins, Queens of The Stone Age, Temple of The Dog, and his own lengthy and acclaimed solo career has died. He was 57. No cause of death has been revealed at this time. His family released a statement which you can see below. Lanegan who had a near deadyly bout with COVID-19 in 2021, and wrote a new book about the experience – Devil In a Coma (White Rabbit Books), out now.  He struggled to regain full health after COVID. Devil In a Coma was the followup to his best selling memoirs – Sing Backwards and Weep recountistoriesng his many strories about the early grunge rock era, his friendships with Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley and others. RIP Mark.   

“Our beloved friend Mark Lanegan passed away this morning at his home in Killarney, Ireland,” a representative for Lanegan said in a statement. “A beloved singer, songwriter, author and musician he was 57 and is survived by his wife Shelley. No other information is available at this time. The family asks everyone to respect their privacy at this time.”
