Machine Head Moves June London Show Back to Brixton Academy After “Beer Gate”

Machine Head has moved their previously announced show at Alexandra Palace back to Brixton Academy, in spite of “Beer Gate” earlier this month “Beer Gate” happened when a fan dumped a full beer on the soundboard, halting Machine Head’s performance after a few songs. The band has issued an update and a special discount for fans, both those who lost out on the aborted show and those who bought new tickets for June. See the message below. The band continues to support their “Burn My Eyes 25” tour celebrating the bands’ reunion and performance of their debut album every night. Playing in their usual “An Evening With” format, the shows consisting of a “modern” set of songs with new members Vogg Kieltyka and Matt Allston and the classic set of BME.

HEAD CASES!

As you all remember, on our recent UK leg of the on-going ‘BURN MY EYES’ 25th Anniversary tour we had the infamous “Beer-Gate” incident, where at the sold-out London show some jackass threw a large pint of beer into our sound board, destroying the $100,000 Midas desk, stopping the show, and pretty much ruining the flow of the evening.

As documented previously it took herculean efforts from our crew, the venue and support staff to get things up and running again some half an hour later. You guys were incredible in your patience and support for us and each other, but nonetheless, it has left us feeling increasingly unhappy about not being able to deliver the show we presented in every single fucking country and every single venue on this first leg of the tour, not to mention in one of our favorite venues of all time, with a history that dates back to ground zero for Machine Head.

And while the overwhelming response was insanely positive, with people saying it was a once-in-a-lifetime event, we have decided to take action and move our London show in June next year BACK to the BRIXTON ACADEMY and give you show you were supposed to fucking get!

On top of this news, if you we’re a ticket holder last Saturday’s show we are giving you a heads up and a ‘thank you’ £5 discount off the ticket price for the new show. This offer is active at 12 noon today, and valid for 5 working days.

The link will be deactivated at 5pm Friday 22nd November. All purchased tickets for Alexandra Palace will also be valid for the venue switch too and will be valid for the £5 rebate

AGAIN, JUST TO BE CLEAR:

Head Cases who have only booked for Ally Pally, tickets remain valid for Brixton Show

Head Cases who booked for 2nd Nov Brixton show + Ally Pally show, tickets valid for Brixton and will automatically be refunded £5 as gesture of goodwill, and for you just being freakin’ awesome!

Head Cases who booked for 2nd Nov Brixton show but NOT Ally Pally will be sent an email with link and unique single use password which will give them access to ‘priority booking period’ and discounted by £5 for NEW Brixton show.

Offer runs from 12pm on Monday 18th Nov – 5pm on Friday 22nd Nov

At 5pm on Friday 22nd Nov the new Brixton show will go on public sale at full price.

Thank you to all who attended this very special night with us, lets get it fucking right this time!!
