Machine Head Celebrates the One-Year Anniversary of their “My Hands Are Empty” Single

Machine Head has shared some thoughts about the one-year anniversary of their hit single “My Hands Are Empty” being released on 11/13/2020. The track bridges the gap between the more recent melodic modern metal of MH and their classic sound. The track will be on the as yet-untitled new Machine Head album due out in 2022, likely in time for their late summer co-headline tour with Amon Amarth and The Halo Effect. The band also released some limited edition merch from the album to fans.

Released on this day in 2020 ‘My Hands Are Empty’ is the perfect fusion of old school and contemporary Machine Head. Written against the background of Robb’s mom dying, the dark subject matter, combined with BME-era guitar player Logan Mader contributing the crushing bridge riff and employing the superb vocal talents of Jared MacEachern on the chorus give the song an epic and somber feel.

The stand alone single, which is to be featured on the as-of-yet untitled new album, was well received amongst fans and critics alike. Helped in no small part by the awesome video directed by long time collaborator Mike Sloat, which again provided a bridge between the old and the new by featuring Burn My Eyes alumni Chris Kontos and Logan Mader alongside current members Matt Alston and Wacław ‘Vogg’ Kiełtyka.
