Sad news to report as just weeks after a fall in his home studio, Ace Frehley has died, officially due to a “brain bleed”, according to a published report from TMZ. He was just 74 years old. News started spreading on social media today that he was on life support and he was not going to survive. Ace was in the studio working on another album in his Origins series, as part of his current deal with MNRK Heavy. Born in The Bronx, New York, Paul Daniel Ace Frehley, first rock band was Molimo, that has some precursor solos and songs KISS would use later. Ace rose to stardom as a member of KISS, which was one of the most popular bands of the 1970s. When Ace left the band in the early eighties, they struggled to remain relevant until the OG Kiss reunion at MTV KISS Unplugged in 1996. Ace inspired a generation of guitar gods with his work in early KISS and his highly influential 1980s guitar-oriented albums. Ace’s cover of “Back In The New York Groove” is his most popular song, like Eddie Van Halen of Van Halen, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, Dimebag Darrell of PanterA. As of now, his final album in his lifetime is 2024’s 10,000 Volts (MNRK Heavy). RIP Spaceman.
