Kyle Sevenoaks Shares a Single and Video for “You Are Not Gods” – Short Film “Taste In Music” Coming Soon

British composer, Kyle Sevenoaks, recently released his new single “You Are Not Gods.” The track was heavily inspired by the videogame Cyberpunk 2077, and features Sevenoaks’ traditional penchant for heavy guitars, throbbing electronics, and gut rumbling vocals. Kyle’s new short film, Taste In Music, is also on the horizon, with a release date in June. Head into the article below to check out the “You Are Not Gods” and read more from Kyle Sevenoaks.

Speaking about the track, Sevenoaks said the following:
This song was inspired heavily by the themes and story of Cyberpunk 2077. Being a massive fan of dystopian future films and books, this game was always going to be a massive hit with me. The song is written from the perspective of an artist residing in Night City, outraged by the many perceived wrongdoings of the megacorporation’s, and those in charge of them. Drawing on the parallels between this fictional universe and what’s been happening in recent times in our own world, I channeled that outrage into the song.

No stranger to the videogame industry, Sevenoaks made his name formally in the music industry with his core band I, The Betrayer, before going on to write extensively for various popular streamers and content creators, as well as performing for the illustrious TwitchCon in the US. He is endorsed by Spector Basses and Winspear Instrumental.

Sevenoaks went on to discuss the importance of the video’s visual themes:
For the video I wanted to have a colorful look but channeled some of the 80s/90s horror aesthetics. Using split colors on my face and low angle shots, combined with filters and film emulation, I really love how the video looks and feels when combined with the song.

Now, seeking to extend his impressive resume into the film industry, Sevenoaks’ is set to release his debut short film, the Evil Dead-inspired “Taste In Music” in June 2024. The short, starring I, The Betrayer frontman Chris Wiborg, is already doing well on the festival circuit, picking up Best Monster Movie at the LA Indie Horror Festival at a ceremony in Los Angeles.
