This truly has been a fantastic year for music, and I’m thrilled that a bunch of bands out there made good use of their ‘Covid time’ to write and record many of these excellent records that came out this year! I know that it was a goal for us too, so I am glad that we managed to deliver an album during this time period as well. With music being such a subjective, I find myself having a hard time ranking things against each other, especially if they are of completely different genres and moods. That being said, this is a loosely ranked list of my approximate top-25 (metal and metal-adjacent) albums that have come out this year. I tried to narrow it down further but it wouldn’t feel right to omit some of these!
