Continuing their 25 year plus collaboration, southern German melodic metal act, Freedom Call, have renewed their contract with the Steamhammer/SPV record label. The fresh deal will see the band release their two upcoming studio albums. Head into the article below to find out more.

The band‘s twelfth, currently still untitled album is scheduled for a summer 2026 release, with the first of a total of four lead singles to be out in January/February 2026. Band leader, Chris Bay promises a number of surprises: “The singles may vary slightly from their album versions, but will of course feature the same outstanding Freedom Call quality!” The band are currently in the songwriting phase and, according to the musicians, around half of their songs have already taken shape. Bay adds that the new material is stylistically “100 per cent typical Freedom Call, but as usual with a few innovations thrown in!”

The planning phase of their 2026 headlining tour, scheduled for October and November 2026, is also under way, the first dates having been finalised already. Freedom Call promise to announce further details as soon as all dates have been agreed.

Commenting on the contract renewal, Bay explains: “Trust and the certain knowledge that each party will deliver excellent and reliable work are the most important criteria in successful teamwork. Both have been the basis of our collaboration with Steamhammer/SPV for more than a quarter of a century, so the renewal of our contract was no more than a formality on both sides.”

Steamhammer label manager Olly Hahn also looks forward to the continued collaboration: “Freedom Call have been with SPV/Steamhammer for 26 years now and have grown into one of the most popular power metal bands during this time.
