FieldHockey Share Their New Single and Video for “Taxes On Taxidermy” ft. Taylor Barber (Left To Suffer)

Post-hardcore band, FieldHockey, have just shared their new track, “Taxes On Taxidermy,” featuring Taylor Barber of deathcore crew, Left To Suffer. Coming with a video through Ghost Killer Entertainment, it is the band’s follow up  “Lost Connections,” released earlier this year. Watch it below and find out more.

”Taxes…” is such an interesting song that we’ve created because musically it’s this amalgamation of Turnstile meets knocked loose with just a dash of Lorna Shore for good measure! I wrote this song with the feeling of never being enough, having yourself cut down or cut apart, and then being put back together in others’ image with the feeling of never getting it right, but there’s always next time right? With the addition of Taylor Barber (Left To Suffer,) feelings of remorse and misunderstanding are everywhere throughout with the feeling of anger within as well. We like to keep it positive here in FieldHockey, so of course we’re gonna send it with the message “I’ll get it right!” All in all, I feel like I just dug deep and brought up old feelings to be put on the song. I hope that everybody out there can get it right… Next time!” – FieldHockey

FieldHockey showcases merciless dynamics with “Taxes On Taxidermy.” Gritty guitar riffs are placed complimentary against fierce melodies. Vocals are venomous adding a unique edge to the track.

Fans can catch Field Hockey supporting the new track on April 18 in Chattanooga, TN at Redbud, and many upcoming spring/summer dates.

Post-Hardcore heavy hitters from scenic city Chattanooga, TN. FieldHockey began as a pop-punk project back in 2019. Enon Harris had just been let go from the Alt-Prog metal group Ten-Year Flood with guitarist Michael Avakian and bassist Joey Scruggs. Head up, he went in search of another creative outlet and found the early makings of FieldHockey with drummer Brad Moss and bassist Justin White. In need of guitar, Enon recruited ex-bandmate Joseph Scruggs and FieldHockey was a go! Under this lineup, they released a demo with Noisy Cricket studios and 7 singles with Breaker 17 studios. For the next two years FieldHockey played countless packed out events, including an opening slot for The Funeral Portrait, known for their billboard #1 hit song “Suffocate City”. Other performances include a show with the legendary Wine Lips at JJ’s Bohemia and Valley Vibes Music and Arts festival (multiple years) with over 800 fans in attendance.

In 2022, struggles within the band lead to the loss of guitarist Joey Scruggs and an indefinite hiatus. Finally, in October of 2023 the spark was relit with the addition of two new members. Michael Avakian and Jake Hixson joined the group sharing the position of co-lead guitar. With new members came a new direction. These new guitarists worked to maintain the punk rock essence of the band but also brought a natural metal flair into the mix. This resulted in a re-establishment as a post-hardcore powerhouse. June 1st, 2024. FieldHockey released their first single with todays line up “Ecdysis”. It took longtime fans by surprise with it’s fresh aggressive approach, earworm chorus and earth moving breakdown.
