FESTIVAL REVIEW: Metal Injection Festival 2024 Live at The Brooklyn Monarch and The Meadows

It’s been a couple of weeks since Metal Injection Fest 2024 melted faces in Brooklyn NY. It was a doozy of a weekend with the likes of Converge, Jinjer, the first live appearance on the East Coast by 3 Inches of Blood in 10 years, God Forbid, Cave In, Gost, Revocation, and a plethora of others.

The first day was definitely front-loaded, I’d never seen Jinjer or Hanabie before and I’m grateful for the experience. Personal standouts from the day include Vërmïndög, Carbomb, Cognitive, Pallid Veil (first-ever show), Gost, God Forbid, and Revocation.

The second day was 3Inches Of Blood day! I love them and have missed seeing them on stage, it’s been a while for sure. Always love seeing Converge and they brought it as always. Vitriol and Necrofier were my favorites on the outside stage. Cave In and LaMacchia (Candiria, Julie Christmas) brought a nice mellow change of pace for the day in the woodshop area, and Goatwhore and Rivers of Nihil were both solid on the main stage.

I don’t know if we’ll be gifted with another round of Metal Injection Fest in NYC next year.  The first one was in Los Angeles a handful of years ago so who knows what is next. I had a damn good time. Frank killed it, but that should surprise no one.  He’s done so much for the community for so long, It’s great to see successes like these.
