The track comes from their excellent 2019 album Voodoo and is a blend of the bands’ post-Grunge 1990s influences with a modern heaviness. Frontman John Strickland comments:

“Godlike” takes the form of a serial killer with the impulses and delusions that surround him. I also wanted to have the victims thoughts exposed throughout the chorus. I usually like to let the listener create their own meanings of lyrics I’ve written, but this song explores a darker side of humanity and the fascination of serial killers in our society.
