EXCLUSIVE STREAM: The Electric Mess Shares New Single – “City Sun”

New York City’s grand Garage Punk band The Electric Mess will soon release their new album The Electric Mess V, due out April 17, 2020, via Soundflat Records! The band has teamed with Ghost Cult today to bring you their brand new single, ‘City Sun’! Following their recent single, ‘Last Call’, the track is an uplifting, triumph of weirdos cutting through the gray of these times. With it’s driving beat, dreamy guitars, great bass lines, trippy synths, and hypnotic vocals, the song is a rager. A much-needed throwback vibe too. Check out the single stream for “City Sun” now!

Esther Crow (vocals/ rhythm guitar / percussion) comments:

“City Sun” is a dystopian tune I wrote about a year ago. It has some surf elements but also a post-punk vibe, and then a slower, psyched out part with theremin (synth). I think the overall feeling that most of us are experiencing under the current situation and events is what prompted me to write it. It specifically refers to the NYC sun, and the setting of the sun/entrance of “the shadow” is a metaphor for the end of the world (as we know it? or…entirely? It’s your guess!)
