In Hollywood, that call from Martin Scorsese has been proven enough to get spotlight-shy treasures like Joe Pesci back in the game (well, maybe more than one call). Meanwhile, in the noisiest, most experimental, abrasive realms of the musical underground, Mark Fischer at SKiN GRAFT Records seems to have the knack. With Post-Hardcore trailblazers Dazzling Killmen having last year reconvened to hit the road once more, coinciding with a SKiN GRAFT reissue of the band’s debut record, Portland, Oregon’s Point Line Plane are now following suit.
Clearly, duo Joshua Blanchard and Nathan Carson (Witch Mountain) got the memo. Originally co-released on Xeroid Records and Sincere Brutality, Point Line Plane’s eponymous 2003 debut was a CD-only release. Tomorrow, on May 29th, 2026, SKiN GRAFT will release a remastered version of the album on vinyl and streaming—both for the first time. One day ahead of the official release, Ghost Cult is delighted to be able to share the album in full right here in an exclusive full-album stream.

Of the album and its remaster drummer Nathan Carson reflects, “We both have quite a few albums under our belts from being in so many bands over the years, but there is something particularly special about the self-titled Point Line Plane debut album from 2003. We were in such a creative phase, making noisy, hooky, post-punk/post-everything music with a single mic, a 1985 synthesizer, and a custom maple drum kit.”
“Since we had almost no money to make this album, and it was going to be recorded on a digital drive, I knew there needed to be an x-factor to give it a warm sound and character. My solution was to rent a big wooden hall (then known as the Disjecta arts space). I had seen a documentary about the making of David Bowie’s Heroes album, and how they put mics at several distances, so that the louder he sang, the greater the reverb. We did this instead for my drums, with close mics on the kit, another set about ten feet away, and ANOTHER set of mics about 60’ away. You can really hear things open up in the most natural and epic way during the circus breakdown in “Crystal Skeleton” or the super heavy interlude in “8-Bit Graveyard”.”
“Ultimately, this was music we wrote without any specific genre targets in mind. Just pure creativity and collaboration that resulted in something greater than the sum of its parts. Big thanks to our co-producer Mookie K for pouring so much sweat and time into the album with us. Getting to revisit and remaster this album now, I can say that Point Line Plane the Album has reached its final form.”
