Just a few days after dropping their “Ball and Chain” video, New England extreme metallers, Escuela Grind, have announced the release of their new EP, DDEEAATHHMMEETTAALL. It is due out on January 12, 2024 via MNRK Heavy records. It comes in sync with an extensive, 39 city, US headlining tour, kicking off January 10th. Keep reading below for further details.

“America! We are coming to crush more poser flesh under our New Balances and Nikes under the command of Big Homo,” says Escuela Grind vocalist Katerina Economou. “We are so thrilled to have a wildly diverse range of bands touring with us and there’s a bunch of cities we haven’t been to in a while, so we’re stoked to throw down with all of you. We’ll be playing a bunch of new material, including our new EP, and stuff from the upcoming album. This is your chance to hear the new shit before anyone else. We’ve been grinding hard on the road all year, and this is our first headliner since last April so expect a wilder, more skull cracking Escuela Grind experience. Be there. Karate kick your friends, get crushed in a wall of death, stage dive onto a teenager and show up with a black eye and broken nose at work the next day. This is going to be fucking wild. This is grinding deathviolence for the girls, the gays and the theys…and the lifers. See you there.”
“DDEEAATHHMMEETTAALL is the third installment of our EP series where we dive into the genres that most influence this band,” offers Economou. “Finishing this trilogy has been years in the works. We are so excited to release these songs as they are perhaps the best reflection of our live performance. The stage has honed these hectic songs to perfection. Originally we were going to have three songs on this EP, but we wanted to create another track that had a huge buildup. This eventually developed into this brutal song, “Ball and Chain”, that marks the point in our live shows where we have a wall of death every night. Lyrically, it references death metal tropes of murder and revenge, but with a decidedly feminine angle.”
Recorded with Will Killingsworth, mixed by Kurt Ballou (High on Fire), and mastered by Nick Townsend (Cheap Trick, Dr. Dre), the EP houses four new songs including the lead cut, “Ball and Chain”, and “Meat Magnet”, featuring a guest appearance by Napalm Death vocalist Barney Greenway.
