Canadian groove metallers, Devilz By Definition, have released their new single, “Angel Warfare.” The track comes from their upcoming album, Devilz Knight, set for release on June 6th, 2026 (666) via SelfMadeRecords LLC. Hear it below.

Devilz By Definition is a groove-metal band built on resilience, chaos, and family. Forged in Windsor Ontario, the band started as an idea by founding member Bruce “Popz” Munro in 2009, it then grew into a ferocious live unit that cut its teeth on the Windsor club circuit.
The band first came to prominence in 2011 with their demo release Blood Drawn (reissued in 2023 as The Lost Days). Further demos would follow, but it wasn’t until 2016 that the band would unleash their first full length album The Devilution. At this time the band consisted of Bruce “Popz” Munro (guitar), Jamie “Couv” Couvillon (guitar), Jimmy Mackinnon (drums), Mat “Alien” Dobbin (bass) and Shawn Mailoux (vocals).
Many line up changes would ensue over the coming years, seeing Jimmy, Mat and Shawn leaving the band. Despite the personnel changes, the band still managed to release The Bitter Remains of Human Consumption EP in 2021. Guitarist, Jamie “Couv” Couvillon, stepped up to cover vocal duties for the band’s 2023 single “Under The Road” and did such a great job that it led to him holding down the position of lead vocalist from then on.
The band endured the tragic loss of their former band member Mat “Alien” Dobbin (Oct 24, 2023). Even though he was not an active member at the time, he was still a dear friend, and part of the DBD family. Despite ongoing member changes, and the loss of their musical brother Mat, The band kept pushing forwards, focusing on bringing the best metal music to the masses.
In 2025 the band created their most ambitious work to date, their sophomore LP Devilz Knight, a 13-track storm of brutality, rebellion, and raw emotion. From the runaway chaos of “Trainwreck” and the apocalyptic clash of “Angel Warfare” to the desperate realism of “Insufficient Funds” (featuring Anthony Giacalone of Among The Rest), the album blends myth, destruction, and social commentary into a relentless sonic assault. The album closes with “Alien,” a haunting tribute to late guitarist Mat “Alien” Dobbin. The record becomes more than just metal – it’s a memorial, a reckoning, and a statement of survival. With crushing riffs, vivid storytelling, and unflinching honesty, Devilz Knight cements Devilz By Definition as one of Canada’s fiercest forces in heavy music.
