Industrial metal project of Colin Emery, Demons By Design, has just delivered its third single, “Thylacine.” The track follows “Feed Me Like A Drug” (feat. Drawing inspiration from earlier musical and conceptual influences, Demons By Design seeks to recombine those various elements in a new way and to present them in a contemporary fashion. This musical freedom allows for much scope to experiment with sounds and atmospheres, incorporating elements of industrial, goth, and metal, to name a few. The occasional collaboration with guest artists also helps to add an additional layer to a song’s atmosphere and impact.

”Thylacine” has a dark, industrial character, interspersed with atmospheric and melodic elements, yielding an intense and emotional song, mirrored by the lyrics that deal with the deconstruction and the loss of one’s self over time. 

Colin Emery, the mastermind behind Demons By Design, is also the esteemed lead singer of the Norwegian metal sensation Perfect Nme. The band’s debut album, released in 2020 via Wormholedeath Records, received critical acclaim, and they are currently hard at work on their highly anticipated follow-up.
