According to a report by MetalSucks, Slipknot has fulfilled their contract to Roadrunner Records, and will not release another album with the label. The band has released all seven of their albums on Roadrunner, since 1999. Slipknot have been working on a new album this year and are eyeing late 2021 or early 2022 for a release. In a new interview with Forbes, band founder, creative director, and percussionist M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan” confirmed they are leaving the label.
In the past Clown has mentioned in passing that they were leaving their label. Asked again, he confirms it.
“Yes sir, seven albums, no ‘Greatest Hits,’ no ‘Best Of,’ no live albums, straight-up rock ‘n’ roll. That’s what we’ve given.”
