Chris Cornell, High On Fire, Greta Van Fleet and More Win Grammy Awards

Although no rock or metal acts play a part in the televised event, the 61st Grammy Awards was held last evening in Los Angeles, California and some awards were given out to our chosen favorite music genres. Five of these awards were given off the air, as rock music is apparently not fit for the air. Chris Cornell won a posthumous award for Best Rock Performance for the song ‘When Bad Does Good’, High on Fire won Best Metal Performance for the song ‘Electric Messiah’, Greta Van Fleet won for Best Rock album for their EP From The Fires, and Best Alternative Music Album: St. Vincent for Masseduction. In a major upset, St.Vincent and her co-writers won Best Rock song for the ‘Masseducation’ track, over obviously better choices from Ghost and Greta Van Fleet. GVF also lost in the Best new artist category to Dua Lipa. In the main pop awards televised Childish Gambino, Kacey Musgraves and Cardi B took home other major awards. Check out the five major rock and metal categories, their nominees and the winners.
