Former (hed) p.e. guitarist Chad Benekos announces his new solo album Now or Never, out January 22, featuring Scott Holiday of Rival Sons and Kellii Scott of Failure. Details below.
Now or Never moves Benekos well away from the rap-metal of his former band, landing in alternative and indie rock territory built on breakbeats and acoustic guitars across nine tracks. The independent release is, in the album announcement’s own words, not an AI project.
Benekos co-produced the record with Scott Holiday, who also plays bass, keys, and percussion. Kellii Scott handles studio drums, with Ryan Blake on keys and Cody Requejo on additional guitar. Machine, known for his work with Clutch and Lamb of God, mixed and mastered the album, reuniting with Benekos after producing (hed) p.e.‘s Broke.
