Due to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, Jinjer has stepped down from the upcoming Slipknot led, Knotfest Roadshow Tour, kicking off on March 16th. Wage War has replaced them. Jinjer, will no longer be joining the tour, as they focus on the safety of their families in their home country of Ukraine. Slipknot has announced the two legs Knotfest Roadshow Tour with tickets on sale now. The tour will take place over two legs, both headlined by Slipknot. The first leg will feature special guests In This Moment and now Wage War. The second leg will feature special guests Cypress Hill and Ho99o9.

EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE: SonofOld Shares New Single and Video – “Throw Me A Line”
SonofOld has dropped a new single and music video for the track “Throw Me A Line!” The project of South African singer songwriter, Nic Olsen. Olsen is best known as one of the front men for early 2000‘s alternative rock band Perez. The band enjoyed success with songs like ‘Picture Perfect’, ‘Dreams and Troubles’ and ‘Wasted Out’. Nic was a member of chart-topping indie rockers Parlotones for a short while in 2009 as well! After a 9-year break of releasing music as Sonofold, Olsen returned in 2020 with a self-titled album. The album was produced by drummer Tom Hughes (FUZIGISH, Vulvodynia) and the songs were mostly sourced from material written between 2009 and 2018. Today, March 4th, 2022 is the latest edition of Bandcamp Friday! It is live from 12 midnight PST to 11:59 PM today. They will continue to hold events on the first Friday of the month for at least the next few months. Bandcamp forgoes it’s usual cut of every sale and donates that back to the band. Bandcamp Has Been Bought By Epic Games (Fortnite)
On the eve of the next Bandcamp Friday, Bandcamp has been acquired by Epic Games, the makers of Fortnite and Unreal Engine. Bandcamp CEO Ethan Diamond has released a statement claiming Bandcamp will keep operating as a standalone marketplace and music community, and he will continue to lead their team. He went on to add “The products and services you depend on aren’t going anywhere, we’ll continue to build Bandcamp around our artists-first revenue model (where artists net an average of 82% of every sale), you’ll still have the same control over how you offer your music, Bandcamp Fridays will continue as planned, and the Daily will keep highlighting the diverse, amazing music on the site.” Hopefully, this remains true as the platform has been one of the most prominent and supportive platforms for underground artists.
Slipknot Postpones Shows in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine
In a nod to the current invasion of Ukraine by Russia (of which Belarus is complicit), Slipknot has postponed, but not canceled, expected headline shows in the region. Read a statement from the band. Slipknot will head out on the Knotfest Roadshow soon with support from Ukraine natives Jinjer.
