Lyric Video: Dommin – Rise, New Album Due June 21st

US Alternative rockers Dommin will be releasing their second album titled Rise, on June 21, 2015 via DNRecords, and are streaming their first lyric video for the title track below. The album was produced by Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, The Used, HIM) and mixed by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool). They have launched a PledgeMusic campaign to pre-order the album plus plenty of rare and unique items. Check it out here.

Enigmatic frontman and guitarist Kristofer Dommin reveals, “Rise is a musical evolution. I don’t enjoy repeating myself creatively so this album offers fans another face of the band. The songs are more empowering, maybe a bit more pissed-off, and definitely a lot more tongue-in-cheek.” Dommin’s keyboardist, Konstantine, sums it up with one word, “swagger.”

Crowdfunding: The Godfather Of Hardcore Documentary

An official Agnostic Front full length documentary titled The Godfathers Of Hardcore is in the works and a Kickstarter campaign has been launched to help start production. A Fall 2016 release is targeted. Director Ian McFarland of Ian McFarland Films and McFarland & Pecci will be heading the project.

Raging Speedhorn Launches PledgeMusic Campaign For New Album

Resurrected Corby, UK metallers Raging Speedhorn have launched a Pledge Music campaign for their upcoming fifth album. The band has been teasing fans with the prospect of a new record since their return in February 2014. They released a limited edition seven inch single “Halfway To Hell” in the beginning of 2015 via Palm Reader Records.

A Kickstarter campaign has been launched by Magnetic Eye Records for a tribute album to Helmet’s Meantime album titled Meantime [Redux] tentatively due for a 2016 release. A deluxe edition of the set is also being planned and will feature bands covers songs off of Helmet’s Strap It On and Betty albums.

A video preview of …And Justice For Art book, written by author Ramon ‘Oscuro’ Martis and co-publisher Dark Canvas, is streaming below. The book is officially available on April 15, 2015.

Martos spent more than three years researching and interviewing more than 100 established and underground Metal bands for the book as well as renowned visual artists like Travis Smith, Eliran Kantor, Paul Raymond Gregory, Arik Roper, and Joe Petagno, among others.

The book’s forword was written by Morbid Angel’s David Vincent. It features more than 400 graphics (some of them never seen before) and 264 glossy, color pages. It was printed thanks to a successful Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign that Martos launched last year raising 236% of its original goal. And Justice For Art is also scheduled to be one of the main attractions of the Rock & Metal Gallery at the UK’s famous Bloodstock Open Air in August 2015.

Shawn James & The Shapeshifters have exceeded their Kickstarter campaign, raising $15,000 after seeking $10,000 towards their upcoming album The Gospel According to Shawn James & The Shapeshifters.

“We can’t believe we exceeded our goal by $5,000! We’re very lucky to have such supportive fans and we could never thank them enough. We’ve been over at Sound Source studio the past week tracking the new album with Adam Putman and it’s sounding huge already without even being mixed & mastered. These new songs will bring lots of heavy energy live and we can’t wait to get back out on the road this April.”

Crowdfund: Appetite For Dysfunction by Vicky Hamilton

A crowdfunding campaign has been launched for the release of a memoire, Appetite For Dysfunction: A memoir from a Rock N Roll manager, written by Vicky Hamilton, best known for managing the early careers of Guns N Roses and Poison, and serving as management consultant for Motley Crue.

According to the description on the crowdfunding page:

I have been writing this book for seven years. While I was living it, I was as high as the bands I was working with. So in recounting the stories and going through the pictures I really thought about what I was saying and feeling about these experiences and was really wanting to bring my true story of the 80’s music scene to the page. I feel I have accomplished my goal.

Though I have had a very rich rock experience, I didn’t make the money I would have liked, so I have chosen PubSlush to help me raise the money needed to put the finishing touches on the book.

I have finished writing the book, but it needs a professional edit, the book needs to be laid out by a professional. I need to pick the pictures, pay photographers for thier usage and make sure everything is nice and legal. I want to pay artist Maxine Miller to do a painting for the cover art. Once the package is complete, then I need to print the books.

Once the book is in print and ready for sale as an ebook, I want to promote the book through social media channels and hire a PR firm. I would love to do book signings and readings around the world.

German extreme progressive metal supergroup Alkaloid is stream their debut album The Malkuth Grimoire below.

Consisting of a pedigree of extreme musicians, including current and former members of Necrophagist, Obscura, Spawn of Possession, Aborted, Dark Fortress, God Dethroned, Blotted Science and Noneuclid, Alkaloid set out to push the boundaries of progressive, extreme music on their full-length debut. The group also decided to self-record and self-release The Malkuth Grimoire via a successful crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.com.
