We all know that one person who’s lashed out to take you down with them. Pride never wins when it’s masked by your deepest insecurities.” – Capture This

Capture This highlights a notable feeling of angst with “It’s About Money.” Guitar tones dance alongside ripping melodies while vocals are distinct, creating an addictive dynamic within the track. The band puts-forth an undeniably confident energy, making this a stand-out single.

Fans can catch Capture This on 7/19 at Lost Lake with Fluorescents and Hellocentral (tickets,) and 7/25-7/27 Underground Music Showcase.

Based out of Denver, CO, pop-punk outfit, Capture This, is a powerhouse force that brings much more to the table than catchy nostalgic melodies. The band prides themselves on maintaining a space for creatives to carry on the future generations of music and the arts. “Two years ago we launched a local event called Female Fronted Fest with female fronted bands, female owned businesses, female creatives and a non-profit organization Dress for Success.” The band says regarding the projects outside of making vivacious music. “It was a very successful event between uplifting women in the arts, funding and empowering women entrepreneurs and giving back to women in need.

The band carries on extra-curriculars with the work that they do with Youth on Record, holding fundraising events and outreach at their merch table. This collaboration helps to fund musicians and podcaster creatives so they can continue their passions and goals.

Capture This opens themselves up to being vulnerable with relatable and authentic lyrics. “We write about real life events that stem around heartache, love, self growth and empowerment.” Says the band regarding the lyrical content when writing. “Musically we take pieces of songs from some of our favorite artists and try to recreate it with our own pop punk style.”

Taking inspiration from artists such as  Demi Lovato, Mayday Parade, Paramore and Evanescence, the band flourishes in creating stand-out music. Now, the band is entering a new era with their single, “It’s About Money.” “The song stemmed from someone telling us that we’re only successful as a band because we have money. They dismissed all our efforts and energy we pour into the band because they’re an outsider looking in.” Says the band about the upcoming track. “They also put down others to make themselves feel better because of their own insecurities. There’s a lyric line in the verse that says, “blame in your favor so that you can feel heard. Slap on a label when you’re really insecure.” That line speaks to judging and dragging down the band so that they can feel better about themselves. Even though this was a punch to the gut it was the fire we needed to write this song.

The band has made monumental strides in their career so far, winning the  Hometown for the Holidays competition hosted by KTCL 93.3 where they fought out over 100 song submissions voted by radio panelists and radio listeners. This makes them a Top Alternative Band in Colorado. The band will now be panelists for this year’s Hometown for the Holidays competition and play at Mission Ballroom at the end of this year. Capture This has brought their energetic stage presence to life, sharing the stage with artists such as Plain White Tees, 3OH3!, The Spill Canvas, Andy Grammer and Knox.

With all of their accomplishments they still keep their fans and new listeners in mind when releasing new tracks. “We want fans to know that being vulnerable is a start to healing. Every song we write is raw and real because it’s about how we’re feeling.” Says the band on how they connect with their fans. “Everything from the songwriting process to recording to performing the song is therapeutic. We want fans to have the same experience when they listen to our songs – to relate and connect it with their own experiences.
