Mansuetude, produced by the renowned Timo Ellis (Netherlands), represents a fearless fusion of genres and an unrelenting sonic assault, a testament to BUÑUEL’s status as a force to be reckoned with in the music world. The album’s raw energy and intricate musicianship are further elevated by a stellar lineup of guest artists who bring their unique talents to the project.

The album features contributions from Jacob Bannon, the iconic lead singer of Converge, whose visceral vocals add a new dimension of intensity. Legendary guitarist Duane Denison (The Jesus Lizard, Tomahawk) lends his distinctive sound, creating moments of gritty, avant-garde brilliance. Megan Osztrosits of Coach Slut brings her powerful vocal prowess, while Andrea Beninati’s cello and David Binney’s alto saxophone and vocals provide haunting and intricate layers, enriching the album’s sonic landscape.

The title, Mansuetude – meaning “meekness” or “gentleness” – might seem like a juxtaposition. The record is, in Eugene’s words “extreme but articulate.”  A double album with three sides. A balancing act performed for and by the unbalanced.

Drummer Franz comments that “Buñuel” is a name that embodies a certain cultural and literary reference, which evokes an entire world. Like his films, our Buñuel is surrealism. We take the listeners into a place that’s suspended between dream and reality.”

“What we’re doing with Buñuel is to carve out a very specific glimpse… partly into hearts of darkness, but more specifically into the depth of our secrets,” says Eugene. “Secrets we keep from each other, ourselves and whatever futures we’ve imagined for ourselves. We are ultimately trying to communicate something direct and deadly about the human condition.”
