Brutus has shared an end of year update. The band will soon head in the studio to record their next album, one of our most-anticpated in 2022. They also announced some shows and festivals and sdhare a teaser from their recent sold-out live peroformance. Their last album Live in Ghent is out now via Sargent House.
Hi there
We hope you are all doing fine.
Here’s a little end-of-year update about all things Brutus.
New album?!
As you might know we are going to record new music in the month of January! New album, yes! After a long, exciting and inspiring writing process the album is finally coming together. And oh boy, we are definitely putting in everything we’ve got. In between writing music we killed time crawling through second-hand websites and collected 8 guitars, 14 basses, 32 amps, 324 effect pedals… 1 bass synth and even chimes. We hope you are ready!
Sadly, we will not make it to Vancouver again to record like we did with Burst and Nest. It would cost us too much on luggage! 😉 But no worries, if all goes well our dear friend Jesse Gander will fly in and we will record the album with him in one of Belgium’s finest studios. More news in January, straight from the studio, we hope we can find the time to take you with us on this journey through our social media.
Playing live!
We are super focused on new music, but our energy level really spiked in November when we played a sold out show at one of Belgium’ finest clubs, the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. It’s always a pleasure playing there and if you were there: thank you for coming out!
Our friend Jeroen came with us to Brussels and made this sweet video capturing the show, please enjoy:

We are happy we can re-confirm the Foo Fighters support in Nîmes (FR) and we are invited by Cult of Luna to play their “Beyond the Redshift” event in London (UK) on March 12th 2022. We are looking forward to drinking a beer with the Foo Fighters and seeing all of our friends in London and in the bands that are playing again. A special shout-out to the people in Poland, yes, we are coming over!
The summer of 2022 will be all about European festivals. Confirmed so far:
12/03/22: Beyond the Redshift, The Forum, London (UK)
02/06/22: Mystic Festival, Gdanks (PL)

More Brutus:
Stefanie was featured in the cool “She’s lost in music” documentary made by the fine people at Belgian Canvas tv. If you have missed her episode, you can watch it again at VRT.NU (sorry – this is for Belgian residents only, Dutch language only)
And Stijn wrote a nice piece about his friend and inspiration Mike Sullivan of Russian Circles in the book “Accolades” from Tom De Geeter (BE). Tom interviewed close to two hundred artists and asked them just these two questions: who do you want to honour and why. Order / more info.
Peter? He is surfing Reverb.com again, on an eternal hunt for that holy Fuzz pedal with his name written all over it… if you find it, let him know!
