Metallic hardcore legends Bloodlet have dropped a fierce new single titled, “Stealing Fire.” The band’s previous release was- Viper In Hand (2019 – Translation Loss) learn working on a new album. Listen to the new track right now!
The band comments on the new music: “We have been working on an LP that we expect to come out later this year, but when the tour with Darkest Hour and Zao came along, we wanted to share at least one of the songs in advance of the tour. It was a tough choice, because we’re really excited about the new songs, but we decided ‘Stealing Fire’ was a good one that has elements of our past, but still hints at the style of the album.”
The blistering new single which was recorded in the basement of vocalist Scott Angelacos and then mixed & mastered by Sanford Parker.
Drummer Charles King shares the background of the track:
“‘Stealing Fire’ is the story of Prometheus’s eternal punishment for gifting fire to man. For his crime he was chained to a rock and had his liver eaten by a bird every night only to be reborn and suffer the same fate again. He was offered his freedom many times if he would turn his back on man, but refused and embraced his suffering. I am drawn to this story as it perfectly fits into the feelings Bloodlet has always tried to convey in our lyrics as well as our music; Righteous suffering and catharsis through pain.”
Along with the release of “Stealing Fire,” the band are set to hit the road beginning July 1st, 2002. The tour sees the band join with Darkest Hour and Zao beginning July 8th in Chicago, IL. Tour dates and tour poster can be found below.
