Blues-inspired rockers Black Stone Cherry have confirmed they are getting ready to commence work on their new album. A new BST album will e the follow up to their Family Tree LP. Guitarist Ben Wells told the news to MisplacedStraws.com, which you can see below (translated by Blabbermouth). The band just released Black To Blues Volume 2, was released on November 1 via Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group a few weeks.
“We’ve gotta do a new album, so we’ll be in the studio wintertime and then probably get back on the road in spring,” he said. “We’ve hit this album cycle really hard. We’ve done Europe four times on it, we’ve been all over the U. S. and everywhere and got to go to Japan and Hawaii for the first time. It’s been great, but it’s time to slow it down for a minute and crank out another album.”
According to Wells, all four members of Black Stone Cherry are involved in the songwriting process. “It’s a free-for-all,” he said. “We do everything equally, so if somebody’s got a melody or a riff or an idea, we just take it. Nobody really says, ‘Well, this is my job to do this and this.’ We’re all in it together.”
