Black Satellite has covered Type O Negative’s late-era classic ‘I Don’t Wanna Be Me’, as a tribute to frontman Peter Steele, who passed away eight years ago tomorrow (4/14/2010). RIP Peter! Watch the video now!

Singer Larissa Vale comments:

“We were inspired by the song conceptually, and wanted to take creative liberty in really making it our own. People may say prematurely that ‘it doesn’t sound like the original,’ but it really sounds like us as a band, and that, we are truly proud of. The emotional context of the song remains intact and we hope that fans will enjoy this version as much as we did making it.”

This is the second Type O cover the band has released, following ‘My Girlfriends’ Girlfriend. Both tracks will be available to stream and download tomorrow – 4/14. Black Satellites last album Endless released last year.
