“When we defined the basic structure of this song, we immediately realized it was trying to tell a story of its own. Having crossed paths with Eugene S. Robinson a couple of times over the years, we couldn’t imagine anyone else to bring that story to life,” the band says.
“Octave Mirbeau used to say that some backs require the knife. I say the same about some songs. This was one of them — and thank goodness i Baratro asked me to do it. The final result speaks for itself,” says Eugene S. Robinson.
Baratro are a Milan-based band formed by Dave Curran (ex-Unsane), Federico Hartridge (ex-Council of Rats) and Luca Antonozzi (ex-Marnero, ex-Laghetto), born in the orbit of the Milan squat Cox18. Following the EP Terms and Conditions (Sangue Dischi, 2021) and their debut album The Sweet Smell of Unrest (Improved Sequence, 2024), in 2024 the band expanded their lineup with cellist Matteo Bennici, with whom they composed their second album, No Comply.
