Drummer Robin “Robbie” Bachman, co-founder and drummer of Rock N Roll Hall of Famer’s Bachman-Turner Overdrive, has died. He was 69. The news of Robbie’s death was broken by his brother Randy Bachman. BTO was known as Canada’s “good-time” rock and roll band with their working-class anthems. Robbie contributed driving 4/4 beats to the classic riff-rock formula created by his brother. RIP. The band sold 30 million records on the strength of hit songs like Billboard’s singles chart toppers “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet,” “Taking Care Of Business,” “Hey You,” “My Wheels Won’t Turn,” and “Looking Out For #1′ and more. RIP
“Another sad departure,” Randy wrote on social media on Thursday (January 12). “The pounding beat behind BTO, my little brother Robbie has joined Mum, Dad and brother Gary on the other side. Maybe Jeff Beck needs a drummer! He was an integral cog in our rock ‘n’ roll machine and we rocked the world together.”
