Sad news today as American Headcharge bassist and co-founder Chad Hanks has passed away after a bout with kidney and liver failure. He was 46. AHC band members and friends of Hanks remembered him on social media and offered comfort to fans.
Hanks co-founded AHC, and with the band released four albums and an EP including Tango Umbrella in 2016 via Napalm Records. The band is best known for its track ‘Loyalty’ from 2005s The Feeding (DRT Entertainment).
Guitarist Ted Hallows posted the following:
“Rest In Peace my friend. You will be missed and your music will live on forever. Thank you for making me a better guitarist and thank you for all the great memories we shared together. Love you man and won’t ever forget you. RIP Chad.” He accompanied the post qith a quote from Hunter S. Thompson, which reads, “There he goes. One of God’s own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.”
We send our condolences to Chad’s family, friends, band and fans at this time.
