A Killer’s Confession Reimagine The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” Announce Fall Tour

A Killer's Confession Victim3 promo shot 2026

A Killer’s Confession strips away the crushing riffs that usually define their sound and turns The Weeknd‘s “Blinding Lights” into something stark and haunting. Waylon Reavis carries the melody with restraint instead of aggression, and the result pulls the emotional core of the original into completely different territory. The band will also hit the road this fall for the “Everything Comes Full Circle Tour,” a headline run featuring special guests Dizasterpiece and Dead Things. A Killer’s Confession built a reputation on punishing riffs, massive grooves, and a dark cinematic streak, but “Blinding Lights” pulls the band somewhere new. The shift grew out of the response to the band’s cover of Nirvana‘s “Heart-Shaped Box,” a video that has climbed toward one million views on YouTube.

Reavis explains: “I enjoyed doing Heart-Shaped Box so much and it was so well received, I felt like maybe I should do another. This time I wanted to do something in a different genre and go a completely different route. I always enjoy the song — ‘Blinding Lights’ — just something catchy and haunting about it. I feel like it could be the perfect song to be stuck in our character’s head for the last time ever as we end this trilogy.”

A Killer’s Confession heads out this fall on the Everything Comes Full Circle Tour, a headline run with support from Dizasterpiece and Dead Things. The trek lands as the band gears up for Victim 3, their sixth studio album and the closing chapter of the Victim trilogy, arriving this fall via MNRK Heavy.

Formed in 2016, A Killer’s Confession spent the past decade carving out an identity within modern alternative metal, pairing punishing riffs and massive grooves with memorable hooks, electronic textures, and a dark cinematic sensibility. The band has racked up tens of millions of streams behind songs including “Numb” and “Angel On The Outside.” Reavis has also teamed up with a run of notable collaborators throughout the band’s history, including Brian “Head” Welch of Korn, Chad Gray of Mudvayne, Aaron Nordstrom of Gemini Syndrome, and his former Mushroomhead bandmate JMANN. Victim 1 arrived in 2024 and Victim 2 in 2025, with the latter carrying the band’s “Heart-Shaped Box” cover.
