Alissa White-Gluz Exits Arch Enemy After 12 Years

In a significant announcement shared on her social platforms, Alissa White-Gluz has confirmed her exit from Arch Enemy after a 12–year tenure with the melodic death metal giants. White-Gluz expressed gratitude to the fans she’s met around the world and teased that she has “big surprises” and major news planned for 2026.

The band also posted the change. Her departure marks the end of a significant chapter in the band’s evolving vocal history. Three distinct and influential vocalists have fronted Arch Enemy since their formation.

Johan Liiva  (1995–2000). The  founding vocalist helped establish the band’s early melodic death metal identity across three releases

Black Earth (1996), Stigmata (1998) and  Burning Bridges (1999)

With Angela Gossow (2000–2014), the band reached international success and Gossow became one of metal’s most influential vocalists. Her discography includes:

Wages of Sin (2001) , Anthems of Rebellion (2003), Doomsday Machine (2005) , Rise of the Tyrant (2007), The Root of All Evil (2009) and Khaos Legions (2011)

White-Gluz brought renewed momentum, vocal versatility, and global impact during her tenure. She appeared on:

War Eternal (2014) , Will to Power (2017) , Deceivers (2022) and Blood Dynasty (2025)

The band has not mentioned any replacement. It looks like they will announce something in the next year.  The rest of the lineup is the same.

Michael Amott − guitars, backing vocals
Daniel Erlandsson − drums, keyboards
Sharlee D’Angelo − bass
Joey Concepcion − guitars, backing vocals
