Knoxville, Tennessee based powerhouse husband & wife duo 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐲 & 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐁. 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐲 formerly of 𝐌𝐲 𝐑𝐮𝐢𝐧 have recently unveiled their new rock project 𝐒𝐖𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐋 (pronounced “𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐢𝐥”) which they named after their favorite 𝐃𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 album from 1977. 

𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 by 𝐒𝐖𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐋 is out today! Released on 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟓𝐭𝐡 to coincide with their 15 year wedding anniversary on Christmas Eve, the couple invite you to celebrate the occasion as they introduce you to their new artistic collaboration. Call it alternative garage rock with a classic twist or just good old fashioned rock n’ roll. However you choose to define it, with 𝐒𝐖𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐋,𝐌𝐫 & 𝐌𝐫𝐬 𝐌 have pressed their own reset button, carved their initials and come of age. The result is 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬, an eponymous debut double album featuring 20 self-produced tracks from atmospheric to raucous rock, signifying a new sound with a crystal clear vision. 

To accompany the new album is the official video for the enigmatically smoldering second single 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞. Reminiscent of a slinky introspective secret whispered in the dark which invites the listener to come hither on a steamy, slightly scary film noir style melodrama and journey within the mind. 

In contrast to the notoriously razor sharp throat shredding and confrontational screaming metal of their former band which could be considered more niche, 𝐒𝐖𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐋 is not a brutal bloodletting. The music as well as the lyrics are far more inviting. 

Combining a juxtaposition between contemplative dark & sultry atmospheric alternative and upbeat bouncy guitar driven straight head classic garage rock n’ roll with a dash of post punk spirit. While 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐤 has played all the instruments, produced & mixed the new tracks, this time around the DIY minded duo are also sharing vocals in various ways on all the songs which adds another vibrantly fresh and unique dynamic to the overall vibe of the diverse recordings, including the covers which they plan to release as a full length album on their own in 2024. 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞’𝐬 distinct spoken to sung vocal stylings seamlessly move through 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐤’𝐬 signature organic seventies inspired solos, bass lines and drums with infectiously catchy hooks and an uncensored edge that sonically captures their synchronicity and authentic sound. Without compromise comes evolution and 𝐌𝐫 & 𝐌𝐫𝐬 𝐌 are continuously expanding their musical repertoire with every release and reinvention.

This big, sprawling album bounces between genres with maturity and depth as it flies off in directions you might never expect. 𝐕𝐓𝐘 displays the inherent, uncompromising confidence of a couple who still loves to shake things up by making music together after two decades yet remaining true to their authentic rock roots reinforcing their comfort and versatility in exploring various moods & tempos, from the abrasive to the subdued and everything in between. Consciously deciding what’s right for them creatively, they remain unafraid to walk their own path which they continue to forge independently with passion and tenacity.

Never one for sugar-coating her emotions, firebrand front woman 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐁. 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐲 remains articulate and outspoken as ever albeit a bit more metaphoric on this new offering. While her signature screams have been replaced with a new dynamic of thought provoking, therapeutic vocal intensity, it’s the 23 year deep seated connection she shares with multi-instrumentalist 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐲 whose proclivity towards producing heady textures and charismatic guitar riffs that makes 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 the unmistakable and unique album it is.

With their upbeat fiery first single fittingly named 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐳𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧’ 𝐒𝐖𝐓𝐄𝐕𝐋 took listeners to the dance floor with an uplifting message of rock n’ roll resilience which permeates the tongue-in-cheek playfulness of the lyrics.
