In a post to social media today, one day before the return of Pantera as a touring band, the estate of the late Vinnie Paul has issued a statement in support of the reformed band’s upcoming shows but it says don’t refer to this tour as a “reunion.” Pantera’s social media accounts have started sharing content ahead of the shows starting this weekend in Mexico, the first under the band’s banner in 21 years and the first without co-founding brothers Vinnie and Dimebag Darrell Abbott. Earlier they shared a full teaser trailer for the band’s first shows in 20 years, kicking off this weekend! This comes days after Rex Brown shared his enthusiasm for the tour in a post, and following drummer Charlie Benante of Anthrax sharing the very first photos of the band in reheasals. The band is gearing up for their very first shows next week, including festivals in Mexico, slots at Slipknot’s Knotfest Chile, Knotfest Brasil, and Knotfest Columbia! They also have already announced several European festivals for next summer, including 10 more dates in Europe.
