Crowbar Release New Video, Announce New Tour with Unearth

crowbar tour poster

Mighty NOLA doom mashers Crowbar has released their new video for the song ‘Symmetry In White’. The track comes off of their recent album Symmetry in Black (eOne). Announcing a new throng of tour dates to continue to support that release. The band is fresh off a recent killer tour we just saw in September, and the next run of dates promises to crush just as much. They will be joined on the aptly named “Symmetry In Winter Tour” by fellow label-mates Unearth and Black Crown Initiate.

Sludge mavens CROWBAR have debuted an all new music video today exclusively through NOISEY MUSIC for their latest single, “Symmetry in White.” Directed by Mike Holderbeast of Cement Level Studios (GOATWHORE, HIGH ON FIRE, EYEHATEGOD), this is the second video Holderbeast has done for the band having directed their last video for “Walk With Knowledge Wisely.”

CROWBAR has also announced a new batch of tour dates with label-mates UNEARTH and BLACK CROWN INITIATE for December. Dates will kick off in Pensacola, FL at the Vinyl Music Hall and trek through the eastern half of the U.S. before finishing up in Longview, TX. View all dates here.

Symmetry in Black was released back in May and sold over 4,000 copies in its first week of release, the highest of any LP’s in the band’s 25 year career, beating out its predecessor Sever the Wicked Handreleased in 2011. Symmetry in Black has received quite the critical reception to boot. Metalsucks states,“It’s no surprise that it’s excellent, but what is a surprise is just how excellent it is.” With Windstein’s focus entirely on Crowbar for the first time since the band’s inception, the anticipation was higher than ever leading up to its release leading internet giants LOUDWIRE to declare, “Windstein’s singular focus pays off.”

Lastly, tastemakers INVISIBLE ORANGES go as far to say that the band “deliver their trademark style of passionate and despondent hardcore-influenced sludge metal with ruthlessness and grace, crafting a masterful album.” The crushing signature sound of Crowbar is at its peak on Symmetry in Black, the band’s most diverse yet cohesive release.

King Diamond Announces Headline Tour This Fall

King diamond fall us tour

Metal legend King Diamond has announced his comeback headline tour of the USA, this fall. The full US tour, with full production promises to be the proper King Diamond live presentation fans stateside have been clamoring for. Joining him will be longtime band members Andy LaRocque, Mike Wead, Hal Patino, and Matt Thompson, making this a must see tour.

For the uninitiated (or just the un-metal) King Diamond was a legend before he ever went solo, leaving Mercyful Fate in 1985. Building on Don’t Break the Oath’s success, King has put out countless amazing albums, especially his first four: Fatal Portrait, Abigail, Them and Conspiracy; which still hold up well today despite being 25-30 years old.

King Diamond is an inspiration musically and aesthetically for two generations of metal bands, as well as being a pop culture figure as well (Clerks II, Dethklok). Best by injury and illness, save for an occasional festival appearance, this is the first full-scale tour KD has done in nearly a decade. Surely this announcement will stoke the fires for his long in the works new album, and eventually a Mercyful Fate reunion tour in the future.

The pre-sale started today here and the full sale is this Friday, 6/27. The tour includes stops at the annual Rock & Shock Festival and the Fun Fun Fun Fest.
