Linkin Park‘s tribute concert to Chester Bennington will be happening tonight at at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California. The show will include several guest musicians(see below), as well as Linkin Park‘s return to the stage for the first time since Bennington’s death. Heavy Montreal To Return In 2018

After taking a one-year hiatus for upgrades to the venue, Evenko, which produces Heavy Montreal, has announced that the festival will return in summer 2018. Taking place July 28 & 29, 2018 at Parc Jean-Drapeau and also its sister festival, Heavy in the City, will return on July 27, 2018. Since 2008 the fest has been headlined by the likes of Metallica, Slipknot, KISS, System Of A Down, Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe, Disturbed, Rob Zombie, Five Finger Death Punch, KORN, Slayer, Alice Cooper, Megadeth, Motörhead, Marilyn Manson, Godsmack, Lamb Of God, and Faith No More. Fans gathered from around the USA and even the far reaches of the globe to attend the second annual Chicago Open Air festival. Although Rock On The Range, Louder than Life, Aftershock and others wear the crown for the greatest commercial rock and metal festivals in America, COA is poised to challenge both of those fests. Over 70,000 fans from everywhere came out to the fest in one of America’s greatest cities to see 40 bands on two stages. I can’t write a review of a show that fell on July 20th 2017 and not mention the significance of this day to many rock music fans and music fans in general. It would have been the late Chris Cornell’s 53rd birthday and hours before the show was supposed to start, news had broken that Chester Bennington, of Linkin Park, also a friend of Chris Cornell’s had taken his own life in a similar fashion to the Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman. Needless to say that put a little damper on the show, but it was played on that I believe Chester would have wanted it to.Continue reading
