Prog metal legends Dream Theater have announced Distance Over Time as the tiled of their forthcoming album, due in February of 2019 via InsideOut Music. The cover art and a teaser with new song sample can be seen below. The band also announced new tour dates. The tour poster includes the tagline “Celebrating 20 Years Of Scenes From A Memory” a nod to the group’s 1999 concept album Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory, which the band has not performed live in its entirety in almost twenty years. To make the announcement the band enlisted their fans to spread the word about the release and even to break the news of the record release date, cover artwork, and to share the first sample of new music with an interactive game.
